Neighbors As Citizens Making Democracy Work Conversation with David Mathews
February 16, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm
John, Peter and their special guest, Kettering Foundation president and CEO David Mathews, will talk for about a half hour about the role of citizens in making democracy work as it should.
For more than three decades, David has led the Foundation’s work with communities and institutions who are trying to solve local problems. Kettering’s primary research question is, what does it take to make democracy work as it should? KF’s research is distinctive because it is conducted from the perspective of citizens and focuses on what people can do collectively to address problems affecting their lives, their communities, and their nation: “We trade what we have learned for what they are learning, and both benefit.”
John, Peter and David will talk for about a half hour then open the conversation up for questions and comments from anyone who wants to stay around. You can use the comment form on the website or go to our Facebook page to post the questions and insights you would like to share in advance.
