The Abundant Community is hosting a special edition of Conversations with John and Peter on October 2nd. Their special guest will be world famous biblical scholar Walter Brueggemann who also co-authored John and Peter’s most recent book, An Other Kingdom: Departing the Consumer Culture.

“John, Peter and Walter are focusing on what it would mean to live in a culture beyond the consumer world. Part of this is to make distinctions about what is neighborhood-serving development and what is empire-serving. They will talk about the biblical injunctions against the displacement of people and places in the name of land development, often called gentrification. Also the futility of system and institutional reform and what is the alternative. It is a conversation, spontaneous and unpredictable, and we will open up to whatever you would like to explore with these three old friends.”
