The old testament story of the end to slavery is part of a current conversation in Cincinnati on Jubilee, emancipation and putting an end to the period of slavery. The year 2019 marks 400 years since the first Africans were brought to America, so the time is ripe to prepare for this conversation.

Historically, Jubilee forgives the debts of the poor every 7 years and every 49 (7×7) years, there is restoration of property to its rightful owners. Pastor Damon Lynch III and Old Testament Scholar Walter Brueggemann discuss the timing for this conversation on what true emancipation is and how to rebirth and revitalize the economy of the African American community.
